About the Age Calculator
Age seems simple until a form asks for it precisely. Government paperwork, passport applications, school admissions, sports registrations and marriage certificates often need your age in complete years, months and days — and guessing invites rejections. This age calculator works out the exact span between your date of birth and any reference date you choose, using the same calendar rules the Nadra and passport offices apply.
The tool goes beyond the headline number. It shows your age in total months, total weeks, total days and total hours — numbers that are genuinely useful in some contexts (medical dosing, administrative deadlines) and fun in others. It also counts down to your next birthday, telling you the date, the weekday it falls on and how many days remain, so you can plan the celebration properly.
Everything runs inside your browser: your date of birth never leaves your device. The calculator handles leap years correctly, knows that months have different lengths, and gives you the precise answer for any date in the past century or any future planning date you pick.
How to Use the Age Calculator
Follow these simple steps — the whole process takes under a minute:
- Enter your date of birth using the date picker — day, month and year.
- Leave the second date as today (it defaults automatically) or change it to calculate age at any past or future date.
- Read your exact age — years, months and days, the format used on official forms.
- Check the totals — the same age expressed in months, weeks, days and hours.
- Look at the birthday card — your next birthday's date, weekday and the number of days left.
The Formula & Method Behind the Age Calculator
Calculating age is a borrowing subtraction on the calendar. Take the reference date and subtract the birth date: subtract the days first, then the months, then the years. Whenever the subtraction goes negative — for example, 20 March minus 8 September — you borrow: one month becomes the previous month's actual length (28, 29, 30 or 31 days) added to the day count, and one year becomes twelve months added to the month count. Doing this by hand across a leap year is exactly where manual calculations go wrong.
The totals are simpler divisions once the exact span is known: total days equals the number of calendar days between the two dates (leap years included), total weeks is that divided by seven, and total months is years × 12 + months. Total hours multiplies the day count by 24. Each of these is displayed so you can quote whichever unit your form or conversation needs.
The next-birthday countdown advances your birth day and month to the next occurrence on or after the reference date. If your birthday is today, congratulations — the calculator says so and starts counting toward the following year. The weekday shown for next year's birthday accounts for the extra day leap years insert into the calendar.
Where Exact Age Actually Matters
Official documents: passport and Nadra applications require age in completed years on the application date; being even a day short of a stated age changes fee categories and eligibility. Calculate with the actual appointment date, not the form-filling date.
Education and jobs: public-sector job adverts and university admissions set age limits measured to a specific cutoff date. If an advert says "not more than 28 years on 1 January 2027", enter that exact cutoff date in the reference field above and check yourself before applying.
Health context: paediatric dosing and some screenings depend on age in months, not years — the total-months figure is the one doctors often ask for in child health contexts.
Fun uses: milestone days (10,000 days old!) make great social posts, and knowing the weekday of your next birthday makes planning easier. Age in hours is a favourite for speeches and birthday cards — few people know their number offhand.
One caution: this calculator measures calendar age, the standard used by institutions. Some traditional communities in Pakistan count age differently (rounding up at new year, for example) — always use calendar age for documents.

How do I calculate my exact age in years, months and days?
Subtract your date of birth from today's date, borrowing days and months from the calendar when needed. The easiest way is this calculator: enter your date of birth and read the exact years, months and days — leap years and month lengths are handled automatically.
What is my age if I was born in 2004?
On 19 September 2026, someone born in 2004 is 22 years old if their birthday has passed, or 21 if it has not. Enter your exact date of birth above for the precise years, months and days.
Does the age calculator handle leap years?
Yes. Leap days (29 February) are counted in the total days, and the borrowing logic uses each month's real length — 28, 29, 30 or 31 days — so results stay exact across any span of years.
Can I calculate age at a future or past date?
Yes. Change the second date field to any date — a job advert's cutoff date, a wedding anniversary, or a birthday next year — and the calculator shows the age on that specific date.
How many days until my next birthday?
Enter your date of birth and the calculator shows a countdown card with the next birthday's date, the weekday it falls on, and the exact number of days remaining from today.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to any server, stored, or shared — close the page and the data is gone.
